PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine preparation for treating true diabetes and related conditions comprising a 2-(phenoxypropanolamino)ethoxyphenoxy acetic acid derivative and sulfonylurea.CONSTITUTION: This medicine comprises (A) a compound of the formula (R is OH or 2-ethodxyethylamino) known as a heat generating agent and useful for treating obesity related to diabetes or its pharmacologically permissible salt preferably (S)-4-[2-(2-hydroxy-3-phenoxypropyIamino)ethoxy]-N-(2- methoxyamino)phenoxyacetamide hydrochloride and (B) a sulfonylurea preferably acetohexamide chloropropamide glibenclamide and tolbutamide as a hypoglycemic. The use of the component A with the component B lessens the problems associated with the use of the component B particularly obesifying effects and is effective for suppressing glycemia when the single use of the component B is not proper.COPYRIGHT: (C)1993JPO
