PURPOSE: A topical sunscreen composition containing a solid organic UV filter and one or more oil parts is provided to ensure UV protection effect on wet skin. CONSTITUTION: A topical sun screen composition contains 10 wt% of C_2 or C_3 monoalcohol, a solid organic UV filter except for oxybenzone, and an oil part containing one or more oils. The oil part is miscible with the C_2 or C_3 monoalcohol. The interfacial tension between the oil parts and water is 9-45. The volume fraction of the oil portion with respect to the oil portion plus the C_2 or C_3 monoalcohol is about 0.02 or greater. The composition is substantially free of oxybenzone and is substantially anhydrous.
